The CEDA Business Council is an organization of business, community, and elected leaders carrying out CEDA’s mission of growth and prosperity for the City of Fallon and Churchill County. The Business Council works together to build a better, stronger region and help to create economic opportunities. As a member, you will be contributing to economic opportunities, investing in promoting innovative solutions in housing, commercial and industrial properties, along with overall business development. Members have frequent occasion to discuss prospects with other businesses and elected leaders, exchanging information on timely and challenging matters that enrich our lives and our community.

Recent Achievements

Established ongoing working relationship with Union Pacific Railroad and BNSF to expand and improve rail opportunities in Fallon and Churchill County. Directly assisted Omaha Track and TCID entering agreement to develop industrial rail park and providing ongoing support to expansion of Black Gold Terminals facility to increase rail served capacity in Hazen.

Facilitated commitment from NV Energy to cooperate and contribute to the advancement of 3-Phase power upgrades and improvements.

Partnered with Churchill County Library to initiate Information Technology Gateway Training Program, creating additional computer laboratory and offer classes to improve the local workforce and to develop online Business Resource & Workforce Development Center.

Contributor to the Churchill County Master Plan Revisions.

Assisted in acquisition of historic Fallon Theatres by Fallon Community Theatre, Inc., its listing on the Nevada State Register of Historic Places and acquiring additional funding from multiple entities.

Established the Fallon Food Hub in downtown Fallon, assisting in securing funding through CDBG, NDA, USDA sources for operations, acquisition and planning future dedicated facility on Maine St.

Ongoing Services

Small Business Development Center (SBDC) counseling services such as assessments, market research, one-on-one counseling, environmental compliance assistance, economic/demographic data analysis, export/import guidance and technology development.

Provide Small Business Training such as NxLeveL Entrepreneur Classes and use of the online Business Resource & Workforce Development Center.

Continue collaborative efforts with other local community organizations.
