About the Business Council

What is the Business Council?

It is important to CEDA that the local business community has the opportunity to support and participate in efforts to build our local economy. Those of you who are entrepreneurs in Fallon and Churchill County not only work and play here, but rely on the local economy for your livelihoods and the well-being of your families and your employees. The Business Counsel is our way of reaching out to you, the members of the business community to listen to your ideas and get your observations of ways we can help strengthen your business and the economic climate of the Churchill County community. If you are concerned about the future of the Fallon area and have a desire to communicate your ideas, the Business Council could be just what you would enjoy.

Perks for our Partners

Partners are invited to attend Business Counsel meetings and our networking events, and other events hosted throughout the year. You will also receive recognition on our website, including a link to your own company website. Partners are often consulted during attraction efforts as we work with new or prospective businesses for their valuable knowledge and to assist with the “red carpet” process as we introduce potential companies to our community.

Partners in Decision Making

Each year the Business Counsel elects two representatives to the CEDA Board of Directors to govern with representatives of the City of Fallon, Churchill County, and the Chamber of Commerce the activities of the organization. These representatives are seated on the Board in order to promote the interest of the business community in the economic and community development efforts of CEDA. The Board of Directors, responsible for the allocation of the resources of CEDA, is the decision-making body of the organization and sets the direction now and for the future.
